Older Mind Matters

Achievements for August!

Just back from holiday and I’m pleased to report that two of the three reports that I’ve been working on have now been signed off: when they are on the university website I’ll add a link to them. If anyone wants a copy before then please email me and I’ll send you an electronic copy. I’ve worked with some great colleagues on both these projects and they’re team efforts. The reports are:

  • Final report: NHS West Midlands Clinical Care Pathways Project (Dementia) May 2010. Authors: Dr Anna Tsaroucha, Nick Le Mesurier, Professor Susan Mary Benbow, Professor Paul Kingston.
  • Workforce Development for Dementia: Development of the role, associated competence development and proposed training required for the new “Dementia Pathway Coordinator” in the West Midlands to support those with Dementia and their intimate carer(s). Authors: Anna Tsaroucha, Susan Mary Benbow, Rob Merchant, Paul Kingston.

In addition to this the report on the learning disabilities and old age psychiatry interface study is approved by both faculties at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the final version should be on the College website imminently so I’ll hope to add a link to that too: again I can supply a pdf if anyone wants to email me directly before then. This report is:

  • Report for Faculties of Old Age Psychiatry & Learning Disability. Travelling alone or travelling together? The interface between learning disability and old age psychiatry. Authors: Prof Susan M Benbow, Prof Paul Kingston, Dr Sabyasachi Bhaumik, Dr Sarah Black, Dr Satheesh Kumar Gangadharan, Suzanne Hardy.

Hopefully all these three pieces of work will lead on to further publications – watch this space to hear more!
